How I Want This Class to Run

This book here is the first installment of the lecture notes for this course.

This book here is also the first part of the current ms. draft of my "Slouching Toward Utopia?: The Economic History of the Twentieth Century" that I promised to the HarperCollins publishing firm more years ago than I care to remember.

One way to run this class is for me to give my lectures--which I have given three times before. I will essentially pretend that I have in front of me a sketchier version of this book, and I will also pretend that you do not all have this book in front of you.
