Things I think are... less admirable... in the Blanchard Macroeconomics textbook...
- page 63: the inverse of velocity does not look to be highly correlated with M, even after its time trned is removed. The figure doesn't make its point.
- page 60: what is investment doing as a function of the nominal interest rate?
- §5-5: this section on IS-LM dynamics seems to me to be a mistake...
- §5-6: there is a certain cognitive dissonance created by the gap between the M-based model and the examples that rely on interest rate changes...
- §7-3 and 7-4: once again, the dynamics--AS-AD dynamics this time--are done with investment as a function of the nominal interest rate...
- Chapter 10: growth facts are much too thin
- §13-3: puzzled at the length and placement of the technological unemployment section
