So I take it you don't have deans setting specific quantitative targets for office hours? (I've encounted rules requiring 6 hours/week)
Posted by: P O'Neill on March 14, 2003 12:27 PMWell, if you can't get to DeLong during his office hours, you could always drop by this blog, ask a question in the comments section, and get authoritative-sounding, self-righteously insistent answers from a bunch of hacks with a vague notion of the issues involved who have taken one economics course in their entire lives and have a knowledge of mathematics that covers single-variable calculus and a bit of linear algebra!
(just kidding, my fellow Brad DeLong commenters! Though in my case it's pretty much true...)

I think if we were hiding from our students, we would. But we aren't. (Let me think about today... student contact hours... 11-12, and 2:45-5...
