I was told "The test succeeded" but I am not sure why.

Very Alice in Wonderland...

Prof DeLong. I am a faithful reader of your site, and despite not being that well versed in economical science, I would like to know more about economics- specifically macroeconomics. This is not beacause of any practical necessity but out of intellectual curiosity. A few weeks ago I stumbled onto the collaborative DeLong Website, but I could not really understand the workings of it. This UseMod techonolgy seems a bit confusing and the site seemed sort of "abandoned." I am reading - by the advice of my brother who is an economist - an introductory text to economics by David Begg, Stanley Fischer and Rudiger Dornbusch. However, the text book dates from 1987 and is probably outdated. Could you please, -or any of those reading this post - say what the best text book available. (I am Portuguese and live in Lisbon, best books in America will not necessarly be available here, but please try).

I know this is a test. If it were an actual life, we would have been given instructions on where to go .

And as long as there are tests, there will be prayer in schools...

Marc, if this were an actual emergency, i.e., if this country had been taken over by a shadowy cabal pushing foreign military adventurism and fiscal policies guaranteed to bankrupt the government in 2-3 decades, rest assured that you would have been given instructions on how to proceed. Good luck.
