"Well, Bill Easterly says that there are two kinds of transparencies: those that you want the audience to read, and those that you want to use as bludgeons to beat the audience into believing that you've done a hell of a lot of work. As the second kind of transparency, it's fine. As the first kind of transparency, it is definitely lacking."

Were these Powerpoint slides, or old style "print a few pages of my paper onto a transparency sheet" slides? Or something in between?
