More Are Driven Into the Order of the Shrill

And they were all such normal fair and balanced people once:

The Shrill Blog: Don Pedro Joins the Ranks of the Shrill. (For this one R. Glenn Hubbard must take personal responsibility

The Shrill Blog: Fareed Zakaria Joins the Shrill. (In this case, the cause is Bush's convention speech and Fareed's subsequent contemplation of a Republican Party that wishes to spread "liberty" to people whom it doesn't really like.)

The Shrill Blog: Formerly Mild-Mannered Peter Galbraith Is *Really* Shrill. (In this case, it is the breathtaking incompetence of Proconsul L. Paul Bremer and his staff that drives him into madness.)

Isn't the Ancient and Hermetic order eventually going to need ranks or some kind of heirarchy to differentiate the growing hordes of the shrill?

Cut Bremer some slack. Iraq is a huge hotel, the plumbing and electricity sucks, and he had all those new Foreign Service staff members to train in performing room service. Note in his bug-out farewell ode to Hotel Iraq staff, Bremer closed
"Long Live Iraq! Long Live Iraq! Long Live Iraq!"
Then under his breath when he thought mic's were off, "Obtenez-moi l'enfer hors de cet enfer!"

Where do we get our badges for the Order? Or do we have to be nominated? I can turn it up a notch if I need to . . . .

From Paul Krugman's column in Friday NYTimes:

"Some not usually shrill people think that Mr. Bush will simply refuse to face reality until it comes crashing in: Paul Volcker, the former Federal Reserve chairman, says there's a 75 percent chance of a financial crisis in the next five years."

Where did Volcker say this? I can't find it. Does anyone know? Is it enough for him to qualify? If so, let us know how he responds to the invitation.

On the other hand, if you think a blow job is a bigger deal than 4000 dead Americans, a terrorist attack, two wars, a record deficit, unemployment, Medicare fraud, no-bid contracts, environmental rollbacks, energy market scams, education underfunding and voter disenfranchisement COMBINED, then, well, you're just a member of the silent majority who believes in family values.

Shrillblog: needs a blogroll. I'd suggest using, as they're easy, but you can also roll your own.

The darn thing is that I'm really not very shrill most of the time. Even that Bush feller makes me sigh, or just bang my head on the keyboard, more than scream. Though occasionally I scream.

I guess that's what's notable about the Order. Listing the frequently shrill would be redundant and boring.

I grew up in Red State America, Indianapolis Indiana if fact. The number of decent folks who knowingly vote against their economic interests would shock you. They really don't trust the Republicans on economics or even foreign policy when it their own who are in the military. However, they just can't accept the social values of Democrats as they are portrayed by the Right-Wing. They literally vote the way their church tells them to vote.

That is why it is critical for the Democrats to take the gloves off and break the
back of the religious conservative/working class
support for the Republicans. It means playing rough or going home. Democrats have to go beyond the Bush TANG/AWOL story and Alcohol/Cocaine abuse and push the the Bush Abortion story.

All efforts must be made to VERIFY and PROMOTE this story. This is story that will break the Republicans. After the SBVT's the Democrats must not waste time wringing there hands over playing rough.

There are at least 10 million othewise democratic votes out there that the Republican pick up every year with their Family Values crap. Does anyone believe that the millions of abortions performed each year are only had by Liberals & Blacks? That is what the Republicans say. You got to realize that the Republicans do so well in the Red States, because the people there really do live in a almost alternative universe of Conservative local TV/Newspaper/Radio. Regular folks there don't even follow the AP/WASH POST/NYT/Knight Ridder. Trust me I know from my own family. The only aspect of the Media that does get through is the TABLOIDS. That is why the Monica story was so devastating to the Democrats. Until now the tabloids have always played against the Democrats. The tabloid press does not have to be that way. You just have give them a story about the Republicans they can not pass up.

Only, exposing hypocrisy of the Anti-Abortion debate as demonstrated by a Bush Illegal Abortion will destroy the Republicans lock on the Red States.

The abortion story like the Bush TANG/AWOL story has been out there for five years before it even started to break nationally. Yet until now, it is Kerry's war record that was the issue. Unfortunately the Bush TANG/AWOL story while a major scandal is not good Tabloid material. Only Sex & Drugs are sure fire Tabloid material.

The Democrats should not have to depend on Larry Flynt or Kitty Kelly to justly win an election But that is the position they are in. After the SBVT LIES there should be nothing stopping the Democrats from telling the truth. Unfortunately, the average well educated Blue State Democrat could learn a lot about Red State America by listening to a porn peddler like Flynt. At least he could provide a insight into the politics of the Red States.

Could you imagine look on Bush's face when at one of his staged town hall meetings he is asked by an irate formally duped True Believer/Religous Conservative about the Abortion story. That my friend will shatter the Bushies and finally break the story nationally.

All the SHRILLNESS in the world over Terrorism,IRAQ and the Economy is not going to win the election. I know. I have family members who after having been shown Fahrenhiet 911/OutFoxed/UnCovered/Unprecedented/Salon Articles etc will still consider voting for Bush based on the fluff they read in Ladies Home Journal and Cable TV News crap like Fox.
