Why You Shouldn't Read Kausfiles

Here's a very good reason why nobody should read Mickey Kaus:

Kausfiles, Island of Calm - Plus, Kerry tries on a strait-jacket. By Mickey Kaus: I worried I was being demagogic last week when I speculated that Kerry would sound like an interest-group liberal on domestic policy. Then he started talking about "special needs education" ...

We all know--or ought to know--that parents of disabled children face tasks of enormous difficulty, and need all the help that they can get. And, in almost all cases, they need more help than we are willing to give them. Such parents are not an "interest group" like the AMA, or PHRMA, or the AARP, or the NEA. They are parents upon whom the universe has imposed a heavy burden.

Remember the kid in your sixth grade class who thought it was fun to mock the crippled? That's what we have got here.

Another reason to skip Kaus: you can't figure out what the hell his point is half the time.

I haven't read Slate in months, primarily because of the crap they've been spewing. I imagine that they all stand around at office parties telling each other how smart they sound and how elegantly humorous their last column was...

What's wrong with making fun of the window lickers on the short bus?

Oh, the irony. The corporate interest groups are spamming the comments here!

He once wrote a piece on the advantages of rear-wheel drive. Its main points were clearly expressed.
