"I believe deficits do matter but I'm also a great believer in the policy we're following. It was very important for us to reduce the tax burden on the American economy," he told political and business leaders gathered at the World Economic Forum in the Swiss mountain resort of Davos. However, he said the current U.S. budget deficit was not overly large when measured as a percentage of the nation's overall output. "We think it is manageable," Cheney said."
