It does not surprise me that she feels fine about doing it as much as that the reaction is friendly interest and not disgust. How is an educated socially active US woman is different from a whore?

How much time did Brooks spend in Nevada? I have lots of relatives in Nevada and I spend time there. What the heck is a "straightforward, honest, rough-hewn Nevada trucker"? Is that a Nevada archtype? If so it is only a decade old or so, since they changed their tax structure to become the warehouse capitol of the west. I thought miners, cowboys and casino Mafia guys were Nevada archtypes. And "honest"? Nevada? Read Twain's "Roughing It" -it started along time ago.
I have nothing against Nevada. My brother lived there for quite awhile, and he said that there needs to be a place where you can shoot guns, blow up stuff, gamble and generally do fun guy stuff for a living. I agree. When I visit there I get to shoot all sorts of weird guns with my relatives at shooting ranges (or sometimes just out in the desert -the biggest shooting range). It is fun or an hour or so once a year
I guess that is the living in the future tense part. I think Brooks is going mad.
