The Fafblog Fraction Numbers 382

Twenty... well, thirteen, anyway... prominent members of the Fafblog! fraction.

Only Fafblog! is capable of understanding American culture and politics at an appropriate level. We are a political tendency of a new kind. Organized. Disciplined. Committed. Eager to work as a mighty united force for Fafnir, Giblets, and the Medium Lobster.

UPDATE:

Obsidian Wings raises the stakes, and seems to commit the heresy of demoting Fafnr and the Medium Lobster from their rightful co-equality in the Fafblog triumvirate:

Bush gets to change positions and policies six times in an afternoon and yet be portrayed as “resolute.” He gets away with it because he never misses a chance to tell everyone how resolute he is. And we all know that's true because Bush hasn't done a lick of work for the past three years. Meanwhile, over at Fafblog, Giblets explains why picking John Edwards was a big mistake : * He is a trial lawyer! As a trial lawyer Edwards repeatedly stole money from poor corporations to give to greedy children crippled by their products! Do we really need a vice president who is a lackey of Big Children? Tragically, although the Fafblog faction grows, the Medium Lobster *still* lacks a nationally syndicated column. All those other space-time-limited screaming monkeys bore me.

So go now and read "A show of intelligence" and tell me you don't want Tom Friedman to never get back from vacation:

Yet, Brad deLong, you do not link to the picture of Fafnir, the further pictures of both Giblets and Fafnir, including Fafnir dancing!, nor the authenication from Fafnir. Shame, Brad deLong! Shame. Bow before the picture of Giblets. Bow before the picture of Giblets NOOOOOOW!

(And enable HTML in your comments, please?)

After all, has Giblets ever linked to *you*?

Brad,

The Medium Lobster is disquieted by your post. It shows that you remain trapped in linear time. Far from being "new," the Medium Lobster Is and Always Has Been.

Even in the neolithic 70's, way before 1984 and the PC/Mac and the Net, we had lots of Fafnir's and Giblet's and Howler's and Amygdala's, only in human form, broken down, babbling, wandering the streets from dumpster to Berkeley dumpster.

"Look here what I found Alien Nazis past is prologue up your skirt you little dish",

they would mutter when you passed them, holding their gnarled hands out for a little PayPal.

"Hey, man, can ya' spare some change ... man?"

We called them Speed Freak's. Zap's. Burnout's.
Sitting by the Netway, with their blogboard sign and their rucksack and their puppy on a string, babbling non-stop, scrabble-headed, stone-blind.

I remember in those days, in the University of Illinois library, finding this ancient book of mathematics and optics, written by some guy in his terse sentences and hen-scratched squid ink, describing his proof that the world was in fact hollow and we were all living on its inside, the tiny sun at its very center, like a glowing coal.

I think some rat-bastard sci-fi hack later kyped that tome without giving the old genius his due. Today, of course, the 9/11 WTC here-after, we've crossed that Galilean frontier, and now everyone knows we live inside the hollow earth of Fafblog.

Fraction? Screw that. I wanna join the Faction 'cause this a shootin war. Giblets alone won't be able to take the beaches of Arkansas armed with a ham sandwich every time, after all:

http://fafblog.blogspot.com/2004_06_27_fafblog_archive.html#108856807744122086

And there ain't no commie history in Arkansas, or central Missouri, either.

A PANEGYRIC UPON THE ASCENDANCY OF GIBLETS

Ham jello we sing, and spam fresh from the sow:
These foods we worship, but before we eat,
Bow down to Giblets, human! Bow down NOW!!

Gibletsian and heroic deeds I vow
shall sweep the Nader voters off their feet!
Ham jello we sing, and spam fresh from the sow.

The grand strategy of Giblets won't allow
George Bush to keep his presidential seat.
Bow down to Giblets, human! Bow down NOW!!

Put down that snail, John Kerry! I avow
Your naval exploits prove your are effete!
Ham jello we sing, and spam fresh from the sow.

Who bravely seized the sandwich at the prow,
Defending coastal Arkansas with meat?
Bow down to Giblets, human! Bow down NOW!!

Our Giblets is demanding! Don't kowtow
To Stelbig or his deviled ham elite!
Ham jello we sing, and spam fresh from the sow.
Bow down to Giblets, human! Bow down NOW!!
