You Can Run But You Can't Hide (Offer Not Valid In Western Pakistan)
The Poor Man picks up another stunning triumph of the Bush administration:
The Poor Man: You Can Run But You Can't Hide (Offer Not Valid In Western Pakistan): Three years after Osama bin Laden fled American bombs in his Tora Bora hideout, the search for the world's most wanted man has all but come to a halt because of Pakistan's refusal to permit cross-border raids from Afghanistan, according to CIA officials.
Washington has downgraded its efforts to catch the al-Qa'eda leader in Afghanistan, from where he supervised the September 11 attacks, because it has become convinced that he is hiding in Pakistan's virtually lawless Tribal Areas, which hug the 1,200-mile frontier. What steely resolve we have!

Umm, but is the Poor Man implying that Osama the US should coerce Pakistan (a sovereign country) into allowing cross-border raids. BTW, those Tribal Areas are lawless because no one, not even Pakistan, has ever been successful in imposing law there...

Isn't OBL enemy #1 of the most power country on earth? Didn' he butcher a couple of thousand Americans a few years ago? Didn't 9/11 change everything?

Barry,
I think the answer is that yes, 9/11 changed everything. Except for the Bush administration.
Their national security obsessions prior to 9/11: missile defense and Iraq. Their national security obsessions after 9/11: missile defense and Iraq.
Talk about a September 10th mindset.

Come on, the election is over. Now would be the absolute worst time to capture OBL, so far away from any electoral cycle.
