Ah. Republicans:
MyDD :: Social Security Compromise Watch: Second, I'd like to talk a little about the Santorum Social security event that I attended today. It was quite eventful.... Local college Republicans... a chant that beautifully was captured live by CNN: 'hey-hey, ho-ho, Social Security has got to go!'

Bush made a mistake by tackling social security. His critics are misoverestimating him. It is going to end poorly for him and the republicans in the next few elections.

If you want to hear this chant, go to http://www.chuck2006.com for a video clip. Also watch as pRick Santorum avoids a question by Chris Bowers about his comment that some Democratic Senators are supporting privatization.

I think we, the people who oppose the social security phase-out, are getting far too confident. Don't just predict that the attempt to destroy Social Security will drive Republicans out of office. First off, it's not yet clear they won't find a way to make this work. Bush has four more years. Second, during the midterms, you may well be able to watch almost every Republican blame Bush for the proposed phase-out and say it wasn't their idea.
