Jeebus! It's March 1.

How did *that* happen?

I'm angry at February days. There's too few of them.

And Jeebus, I'm 50 years old already! How on earth did *that* happen?

Wake me when it's November, 2008.

Clearly, model-based theories of 'global turning' are inadequate and cannot be used to justify anti-capitalist economic policies.

Time keeps on slippin', slippin', slippin', into the future...

You load sixteen tons, and what do you get?
Another day older, and deeper in debt.

And then one day you find
Ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run
You missed the starting gun

Feeling old, are we? :)

Here I sit, staring at that dissertation-writing schedule I dutifully gave to my advisor in January, reading the italicized words to be completed, February 2005 after a thorny chapter that sits in my hard drive, quietly taunting me.

"I'm a conceptual mess. You haven't even opened me in 10 days. Now it's March. What's wrong with you?"

April may or may not be the cruelest month, but February is incontestably the shortest.

Well, first, they added all those days when we switched from the Julian calendar...

"And then one day you find
Ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run
You missed the starting gun"

Funny, that's what I thought of when I saw that line too.

Time has come today
Young hearts can go their way
Can't put it off another day
I don't care what others say
They say we don't listen anyway
Time has come today

Tiiime is on my side, yes it is.

Summer programs (e.g. Harvard in Beijing) should not be due March 1st. And if it must be so, a small reminder of February's brevity on the application would be nice.

Three months from now I shall turn 81, and I regard every day as a victory over Adolf and Joe!

"And then one day you find
THIRTY PLUS years have got behind you"

since Dark Side of the Moon was released. Now how did *that* happen!

"Three months from now I shall turn 81, and I regard every day as a victory over Adolf and Joe!"

Congratulations, sir. I hope the last 50 years or so have had their share of joy.
