Stuck in the Past

Slate Magazine - Table of contents Wednesday, July 3

How long will it take slate.com to notice that its front page delivers its content as of July 3, 2002? It is hard to see how this bug could arise in an appropriate software package. How can you fail to read the correct date?

I noticed this bug once before, several months ago. I'd bet that it isn't visible in the Slate offices.

They're no doubt using Microsoft software.
(If only they had a choice....)

Speaking of Microsoft software, am I the only one who has trouble viewing the Semi-Daily Journal using Netscape on a PC? One hesitates to bring it up, for fear of starting either a Microsoft-vs-Netscape war or a PC-vs-Mac war, but I thought you might like to know.

(On the Slate bug--I find that if I reload four or five times, I'll eventually get the current version.)
