From Phil Dyson: "There are only 10 types of people in the world: those that understand binary and those that don't. Ha ha ha!"
Posted by DeLong at September 27, 2002 11:56 AM | TrackbackWarren Buffet's version is better: "There are really only three kinds of people in the world,
those who can count and those who can't."
...or how about this version (courtesy of my brother).
There are only two types of people in the world. Those who believe there are two types of people in the world and those who don't.

There are only 10 ways to solve this problem (pick your radix). Only the 11th way works.
Consider Dyson's gnomic utterance stolen...
My version has always been: There are three types of people in the world. Those who think there are two types of people in the world, and those who don't. I'm in the third category.
Posted by: Dave Romm on September 28, 2002 03:18 PMThis is a literally unspeakable joke, since "10" has to be pronounced "one-zero".

I do some freelance graphic design work. I once did a "internet/computer/high tech" graphic for a church website. I had some binary code as part of the graphic. I put in 0110 0110 0110, a.k.a 666. I thought it was funny anyway...does that make me a serious geek?
PS - I DO NOT worship the Prince of Darkness!
