Jim Henley of Unqualified Offerings calls Joe Lieberman a "loathsome toad" for seeking to hold hearings on violence in video games.
Get your vocabulary straight, Jim. It's "venomous toad."

I'm not one of those who dislike Lieberman, and I don't have a problem with his religiosity or looking at the effects (not "banning") of video game violence.
But with his betrayal on the stock options issue, along with the latest news that he's supporting the White House on missile defense, one has to wonder not just about his political ideology, but his basic competence.

Competence? You must be referring to his ability to attract votes in the Democratic Primaries.
He's plenty intelligent, otherwise, though I do think he's a bit of a self-interested wimp. Just consider his debate performance against Dick Cheney. There were plenty of skeletons in Cheney's background to be exposed (like the vote against Nelson Mandela), but instead he chose to be chummy and "balanced" -- so to be better-positioned for a run for the main job the next time around, I suppose.
A NY Times survey last week, by the way, reported that he has only about 2% support among Democratic Party delegates righ now, behind somewhere around 18% for Kerry, and 7-9% for Edwards.
