Let's Get Snarky! Part I

Our first exhibit of snarkiness comes from Mark Kleiman:

Mark A. R. Kleiman:   CAN YOU SAY "OFF THE RESERVATION"?: See? Only partisan Democrats like Krugman and DeLong think Bush's stimulus plan won't stimulate much.

What is he referring to? This:

PITTSBURGH - Former Treasury Secretary Paul H. O'Neill said the president's plan to eliminate taxes on corporate dividends will do little to improve the nation's economy.

"I would not have done it," he said.

Speaking out for the first time since being forced from his post, O'Neill said some of the money from the $670 billion tax-cut plan would be better spent to shore up Social Security.

Hey Brad, I'd be honored to the last man standing next to to Paul Krugman in a debate anyday... The reality of course is, you are far from alone.

I've never been one for hero worship, but Krugman is my current most-admired. It can't be easy to use his space in the NYT the way he does and stand up to the prevailing gale that results. It's rare for one as fortunate and gifted as he is to have his perspective. Most of those granted wealth and power only use it to get more. Brad is another example, of course, except that he just has this lame website ;^)

It also looks like the Bush tax cut is getting less and less popular almost on its own day by day.
