New Year's Resolutions

I've decided that I see too little of my colleagues. So I have the following resolutions:

  • Accept all lunch or coffee invitations. No more turning them down on the grounds that I have to get some work done.
  • Rely more on the laptop and less on the desktop. Take the laptop and work in places (Peixotto Room, FIFO Cafe at the Business School, Strada at Bancroft and Telegraph, outside Rick and Anne's, Brewed Awakening on Euclid, Free Speech Movement Cafe) where interesting people are likely to wander by.
  • Answer all email individually addressed to me promptly!

There's a Strada on Telegraph?

. . . and of course, to be really down, one must insist on still calling it Roma.

Unless it's on Bancroft and College, of course :)

I have an alternative technology for you, Professor DeLong: one of those portable keyboards for PALM pilot (or compatible). As far as note taking is concerned, that will do the trick, and it's obviously much lighter to cary around. Of course, it's much less powerful too... Maybe you'd want to make sure you always have at least one such keyboard with you.

You might do all this and get a shock to find that all of your colleagues are all doing their own anti-social things and even though you're now far more visible, you STILL never see them. ;-)

Jean-Philippe, I think if Apple made a PDA your suggestion would be much more persuasive for Prof. Delong.

I was hoping that a new year's resolution would mean less work rather than relocating work.
